Description

This is a very interesting subject that apply to the M5 and M4 screws. If you are like me, you probably found out after owning and flying your beloved Broussard, that the plane is not only metric on all the hardware, but that is a special metric type.

France adopted the universal ISO metric screw thread standards during a major global transition spanning the 1970s to the 1990s. Prior to this era, France, along with several other European and Asian nations, used its own modified metric fastener standards.

Because of this, all of the sizes under 6mm in diameter are with this unique thread pitch that is obsolete since no other country continue its use. The M4 or 4mm in diameter screws share the same strange pitch of 0.75mm, meaning that each turn on the screw, it moves 0.75mm respectably. Only few other antiques machinery from the 1950 share such thread.

This is for a bag of 200pcs of the M4-0.75 x 10mm Aircraft Truss head Machine screws with Phillips #2 driver head. They are made of premium, corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and typically fall under the 18-8 or 304/316 alloy families for excellent rust prevention.

  • Tensile Strength: Generally have a minimum tensile strength ranging from 55,000 psi to 80,000 psi
